Welcome to Jodi and Todd Heston's HA WALK Page
Please join us and WALK to End Hydrocephalus! Our son, Jacob, was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at a very early age and has a shunt implanted in his brain to treat the condition. This event is very dear to our hearts because we are walking on behalf of HIM and because we are living with the constant fear that his shunt could fail at any moment. In an ironic twist of fate, Jake actually had to miss his first walk, in 2017, because he had to be hospitalized due to a shunt malfunction that ultimately took three brain surgeries to resolve in a two week period. A shunt is not a cure and consistent shunt failures lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime - in some cases 100 or more. Despite this, it is the best treatment available. This is unacceptable and it is WHY WE WALK. Please join our team and donate to help us reach our goal. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.
