Welcome to my HA WALK Page
Hello FAMILY & FRIENDS,
Please join me as I WALK to End Hydrocephalus! You may not know, but hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. A shunt is not a cure, as many patients endure multiple brain surgeries throughout their lifetime, some more than 100. Imagine life knowing that the next brain surgery lurks around the corner because your shunt could fail at any moment. No one should have to live like this. This is WHY I WALK and also why I need your support. Please donate and help me reach my goal. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.
I am hoping that you will be able to help us raise money once again this year, to End Hydrocephalus. As you know, my Grandson Aiden has Hydrocephalus and he is Double Shunted, yes he has 2 Shunts :( He has had an extremely difficult time over the last couple of months, adding another 4 surgeries to help control the extra cerebrospinal fluid (to date Aiden has had a total of 17 surgeries related to his Hydrocephalus) and he is not even 4 years old yet. It is so difficult to watch this Amazing little boy suffer the way he does and through it all, he has a smile on his face. He is the Strongest person that I know. Even when he is being wheeld into the OR room and he is so scared because he now knows what waits for him on the other side of those doors, he will keep himself calm. You could see how scared he is and that he wants to cry but he will not let himself. I truly do not know how he does it, other than the fact that he is Our Invinsible Aiden, the Strongest Toddler/Person that I have ever met.
Thank you in advance, a million times for any donation you may be able to make.
