Baltimore WALK to End Hydrocephalus

Justice's League

Welcome to Justice' League Page!

Justice is a happy sassy 4 year old.  She has endured many health challenges.   Her 1st challenge; Hydrocephalus "water on the brain", started while she was still in her mommy's belly.  It was so severe that 3 major hospitals highly recommended terminating her life.  That experience was not only terrifying but confusing.  The information that was received from the  HA (Hydrocephalus Association) when Justice was born helped us understand her condition and prepared us for what to expect. We support HA and this walk so that other families will be provided with information in their time of need and to increase funds for research for a cure! Please join Wonder Girl Justice's League at the HA WALK on 9/21/19.

Justice has a shunt in her head that drains the excess cerebral spinal fluid through a tube into a cavity in her abdomen (like a catheter).  She had to have brain surgery at 1 month old to place it after another procedure was unable to drain the accumulated fluid on her brain effectively.  The thing is the shunt or tubing could fail at any moment.  Resulting in dangerous pressure on the brain which will need to be corrected with yet another brain surgery. Justice has been blessed having only 2 brain surgeries so far.  A shunt is not a cure as its consistent failures lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime, in some cases 100 or more. This is unacceptable and this is WHY WE WALK. Please join Justice and her League, donate and help us reach our goal. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.  Walk or just hang with us on 9/21!!!

Thank you!
