Orange County WALK to End Hydrocephalus 2019

Welcome to Our Team Page!

Please join the BEHR CARES team as we WALK to End Hydrocephalus!

Hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition which leads to an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), resulting in pressure or water on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is a surgical implant called a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt which redirects the excess fluid out of the ventricles in the brain into the abdomen.

Once shunted, a patient can live a relatively normal productive life. The problem though, shunt devices have a high failure rate, resulting in encumbering headaches, dizziness and seizures. Hydrocephalus patients can endure multiple brain surgeries yearly, some more than 100 in a lifetime. This is a tough way to live.

Please sign up today and invite your family and friends to join the WALK to End Hydrocephalus with the BEHR CARES team on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 in Huntington Beach.

As a mother with a child who has Hydrocephalus, I am very thankful for your support in helping to find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus. I look forward to walking with you!
